recommend it for solo travelers
The landlady was extremely welcoming, took time to show me the well-equipped en-suite room. Waking up to those beautiful views of the tranquil countryside was something else, felt like being in a movie scene, you know.
It wasn't cheap, but for the experience, I would say it was still acceptable.

i can’t believe this place doesn’t offer proper food, especially breakfast, it’s absolutely ridiculous! the lack of glasses in the room was another huge oversight, honestly just expect a little more as a guest. i nearly wrote a glowing review but stunning views aren’t enough to overlook such basic inconveniences.

It was just a fine choice for a stopover in Parkham with good value for price. The hosts were helpful with drying wet clothes after a rainy hike. Bring your own snacks as there are no food options available.

The hosts were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to use the tumble dryer for our wet clothes after a long walk in the rain.
The lack of glasses in the room was a bit inconvenient, especially after our muddy trek when we could have used a drink.

The quaint vibe and cozy atmosphere made it suitable for a brief getaway. The room was well-equipped overall, which caught my attention right away.
There were no glasses in the room, which was a hassle after a long, muddy trek. I also noticed the absence of a heater, which could have warmed me up after arriving wet and cold. And it's worth mentioning that the pub is quite small and doesn't serve food at all —especially since I arrived on a Monday when the bar was closed. Take-aways are fine, but the lack of a proper breakfast option is a miss.

Be sure to ask about using the tumble dryer if your clothes get wet from a day out.

A Cozy Retreat with Stunning Views
Our stay was delightful! We enjoyed breathtaking views of the open fields and sea from our small but well-equipped room. The tiny fridge kept our drinks cool, and setting up our Amazon stick on the TV for a cozy movie night was a fun bonus. Remember to bring snacks!

The countryside views from the room are breathtaking, offering a tranquil escape that felt like stepping into a scene from a classic space opera. The cozy atmosphere and clean, well-equipped accommodations made my stay comfortable and appealing.
There were several shortcomings that put a damper on the experience. The lack of glasses in the room was a nuisance, especially after getting caught in the rain, and there was no heater to warm up after coming in wet. the absence of food options, particularly breakfast, was quite disappointing and a bit inconvenient. With limited phone signal, unreliable WiFi, and a problematic TV signal, you'll need to plan for offline activities. while the setting is lovely, practicality could use some serious improvement.

great location but breakfast options lacking
The room had charming decor with lovely countryside views. I appreciated the comfortable bed which made for a good night's sleep. Cleanliness stood out to me, everything was spotless during my stay. I also enjoyed the great location for walkers on the South West Coast path, making it easy to start my hikes on scenic trails.
The absence of breakfast options was quite disappointing and not what I expected.
